Rates and deposits
Set an hourly, daily or monthly rate per item. When you create a rental you choose the basis, the start time and the expected return; the charge is rate times duration, plus any refundable security deposit you collect up front.
Stock is held, not sold
Rented units leave available stock so nobody sells a machine that is out on hire. When the item comes back, the return screen releases the quantity, computes the actual duration, applies late fees if the return is overdue and settles the deposit.
Know what is out right now
- • Active rentals with due-back dates and customer contact.
- • Overdue list, sorted by how late each item is.
- • Closed rentals with the final billed amount and any late fee.
- • Voided rentals kept for audit, with stock already restored.
Money follows the rental
Rental charges, deposits, refunds and late fees post to the customer ledger and the cash book, so the outstanding balance on a customer's page matches the cash you actually counted.
